We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and skilled education professional to join our team at Amnesty International Australia as our Human Rights Education Coordinator.

As the Human Rights Education Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of our human rights education work. Your mission will be to design, plan, and deliver educational materials and resources that foster allyship, promote truth-telling, and showcase powerful stories of change. This role is pivotal to delivering the ambition of our people-powered strategy, ensuring transformational human rights education across Australia.

A crucial aspect of this role involves building strong relationships and working collaboratively with various partners, including internal stakeholders, schools, sporting clubs, education institutions, and businesses. Your ability to foster these connections will be key to amplifying our impact and reaching broader audiences.

At Amnesty International Australia we value flexible working, and have a range of flexible work options including hybrid working from home arrangements. The salary for this position is $102,570 plus super with salary packaging available to maximise your take-home pay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Implement: Oversee AIA’s human rights education work, ensuring it aligns with our strategic goals.
  • Innovate and Engage: Develop innovative human rights education approaches that foster increased allyship and amplify lived experiences.
  • Collaborate and Develop: Work with Indigenous partners, the Indigenous rights team, and community members to create programs that support truth, justice, and reconciliation.
  • Train and Empower: Develop a train-the-trainer program with the community engagement team to build rights-respecting sporting clubs, schools, and businesses.
  • Create Accessible Content: Design inclusive and impactful human rights education for our priority domestic campaigns, tailored to various learning needs.
  • High Standards: Perform to a high standard within agreed timelines, in line with AIA’s vision and values.
  • Commit to Diversity: Implement our diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing commitments.
  • Flexibility: Undertake other tasks within your skills and competence as required.

Building Powerful Relationships:

  • Describe your experience in building and maintaining powerful, mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders. How have these relationships contributed to a shared impact in your previous roles?

Designing Learning Journeys and Education Excellence:

  • Detail your experience in designing comprehensive learning journeys and educational programs. Discuss how you ensure learning outcomes in the training and resources you develop.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Cultural Competency:

  • Illustrate how you have incorporated cultural awareness and sensitivity into your educational programs. Describe your collaboration with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders to ensure your initiatives promote truth, justice, and reconciliation effectively.

Developing and Delivering Training Programs at Scale:

  • Provide examples of your experience in developing and delivering training programs on a large scale. How did you ensure that these programs were accessible, impactful, and tailored to the diverse needs of your audience?
