Therapeutic Specialist - Multiple Locations

Anglicare NSW

Sometimes, just extending the hand of support can move mountains - we invite you to bring a helping hand to work in our committed, creative and passionate therapeutic team - to help positively shape the stories of vulnerable children forever.

We are Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT), it is our core mission to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT, Western Sydney and regional, rural NSW.

At Anglicare, we look after our staff - we have a strong team of highly experienced Therapeutic Specialists to nurture your learning and further develop your expertise. Anglicare uses the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care to support staff and clients alike. Sanctuary is focused on creating resilient and psychologically safe teams, to buffer us from the impacts of stress when working with intergenerational trauma.

We're looking for a Therapeutic Specialist to join our team, who will provide therapeutic expertise in implementing trauma-informed care services for children and young people who have experienced abuse-related harms and are living in foster care, kinship care and therapeutic settings.

Most people know, to varying degrees, the impact that trauma and adversity can have on children, young people and families. But not everybody knows just how far-reaching its effects can be, and how committed teams can create long-term and lasting healing.

You do. Your minimum two years' experience in a therapeutic role, coupled with your empathetic and understanding nature, allows you to easily connect with those who are vulnerable.

And your tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or a related discipline, gives you the tools you'll need to develop evidence-based, culturally appropriate, trauma-informed care assessments and tailored intervention plans for children and young people in need.

Your hard work will be recognised and rewarded. The base salary for this position is $90k - $100k (dependent on qualifications and experience), plus 10% employer superannuation guarantee. Generous salary packaging benefits are available under Anglicare's PBI status. We also offer other benefits including additional personal leave and paid parental leave.

This is a truly unique opportunity where you'll be directly contributing to the lives of those who need it most. And we think that's pretty special.

If you agree, then get in touch! Please contact Tenille Abell on 0438 063 670 (during business hours) for all enquiries.

We can't wait to hear from you!

Applicants will be required to undertake personality and behavioural assessments and must obtain a Working with Children Clearance through the Office of the Children's Guardian (NSW) and undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to an offer of employment.

If you would like to join the Anglicare team, please submit your written application addressing the key requirements by clicking Apply Now.
