Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a proven leader with experience in high-volume and complex end-to-end payroll processing to lead our payroll team from early 2024. Leading a team of six, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll services across multiple social services portfolios including (but not limited to) community, disability, housing and aged care services. Due to the diversity of our 2,000+ staff, the successful Payroll Manager will play a strategic role in addressing challenges and providing technical expertise on payroll and related systems, including software updates and system implementation in collaboration with other business units.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all elements of payroll to ensure payment of employees in line with enterprise agreements, contracts of employment, organisational policies and relevant legislation.
  • Maintain pay rates for enterprise agreement and salaried employees, liaise with external providers and authorities, and coordinate month end reconciliations, payments and leave provisions.
  • Oversee the payroll system(TechOne) to reflect the current organisational structure.
  • Provide direction and guidance to direct reports, promoting and leading a values-based and customer focussed culture.
  • Operate as a key project team member for projects involving payroll, working with organisational stakeholders and delivering effective project outcomes within the agreed timeframes.

What do you need to bring?

  • Proven experience in leading a team, employee development, performance management and in facilitating positive working environments.
  • Proven experience in high volume and complex end to end payroll processing and technical knowledge of all areas of payroll.
  • Proven experience in managing software updates and contributing to change of payroll system configurations, including testing and sign off prior to go live.
  • Proven knowledge of Awards, workplace agreements and relevant legislation relating to terms and conditions of employment for payroll.
