About Us:

Life’s made of moments. Anglicare Victoria faces them head on. Moments of crisis, moments of change, moments of magic. Moments that make up the everyday, or change the course of a person’s life. Some are quiet, some are loud. Some are happy, some are sad. Whether fire or flood. Belief or despair. Joy or grief. We’re there.

Day in, day out, vulnerable people and families lean on Anglicare Victoria through these moments - from childhood to parenthood, and all the messy bits in between.

Your role with us:

Support the delivery of services in the welfare and homeless sector. You will need to understand and respond to clients’ needs, in order to deliver and adapt services to support client outcomes. To be successful you will need to use your knowledge of the services offered to people that are homeless or disenfranchised in the welfare sector including the impact of environmental factors affecting homeless and emergency relief.

An excellent opportunity for a dynamic and passionate support worker to join our South West team and assist in the delivery of local programs and services including our Drop In Centre and Emergency Relief program that support local clients and families in need.

How will you make your mark:

  • Your experience in the community services field relevant to the role, particularly in relation to homelessness and mental health.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both clients and volunteers.
  • Well-developed time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to offer leadership and encouragement to volunteers.
  • A commitment to social justice principles and supporting people from all backgrounds.
  • A commitment to supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of program participants and staff.

Remuneration and benefits:

  • SCHADS award level 3 which is $37.35 plus 25% casual loading.
  • Casual hours.
  • We take the Health and Wellbeing of our people seriously offering a Well Worth It! Program, Fitness Passport, EIP and EAP.
  • Access to discounted health insurance as well!
  • A diverse and inclusive workplace for you to feel safe, acknowledged.
  • Our people are our biggest asset, we will support you to progress your career with a dedicated Learning & Development team.
  • A workplace with Rainbow Tick Accreditation and Diversity Council Australia Inclusive Employer recognition.

What our people say. “There’s a kindness in the way the organisation deals with its people. It still feels like a smaller agency, with that sense that it has amazing influence, which is led from the top, but then there’s this respect between the regions as well. It’s like it’s family, but it's so influential in the industry as well.”
