We are the state’s largest provider of Out of Home Care services and provide therapeutic care to young people across over 30+ residential homes in Melbourne and across Victoria. Within each house, a team of between 8 and 12 staff provide trauma informed therapeutic care to young people which includes responding to the young person’s emotional and functional needs, the development of their personal skills, all administrative requirements and household duties.
The aim is to provide a safe and nurturing home environment while supporting the young people to be the best they can be.
Responsible for providing high level leadership for all staff and partner agencies within the program. You will ensure that service standards and targets are met using a continuous improvement approach. Your skilled, calm and compassionate approach will provide strategic and operational leadership to your team leaders and house coordinators, and model a therapeutic approach for the benefit of the young people we have in care.
This position manages a particularly complex program area which includes residential and lead tenant homes as well as a youth homelessness refuge and the Embedded Youth Outreach Program in partnership with Victoria Police. The position comes with related budget and high risk service profile and requires a high level of operational management and leadership in order to minimise risks and maximise positive outcomes.
What our people say- “I've genuinely never thought about going to another organisation. The opportunities, the innovation, the commitment to change and working with vulnerable families, young people, communities. It sounds really cliche, but you come into this work to make a difference and you can do that here. We work really hard to make differences in those spaces.”
