CAAPS is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation delivering a range of important community services to people through activities and services that reflect our CORE values of caring, openness, respect and empowerment. You will be part of an exciting program delivering a new approach to providing AOD services for youth along with residential services for adults and families. We are based in Darwin in the Northern Territory.

About the position

As the Executive Manager of AOD services you will be responsible for strengthening and unifying CAAPS residential and community based AOD programs. You will also ensure strong clinical governance across delegated programs/services and provide leadership of specific activities in line with CAAPS strategic direction.

Essential skills and experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification e.g., business and/or social sciences related.
  • Extensive experience in successfully managing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams with a period of at least 5 years within a not-for-profit organisation.
  • A track record of delivering successful operational results in the face of significant challenges.
  • A demonstrated passion for social change and creating an organisation of influence for people experiencing disadvantage in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Substantial experience in developing, leading and delivering evidence-based programs within a diverse organisation.
  • High level capacity to execute strategic/business plans and deliver on KPIs.
  • High level capacity to redevelop existing business models to ensure viability and sustainability.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and meet requirements of legislated regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to represent and negotiate at executive level.
  • Experience in a diverse organisation demanding flexibility with high standards within a focus on consumer/client outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in the timely preparation and presentation of reports and submissions at executive management level.
