About the Program

The Family Support Service provides support and assistance to families to keep their children safe, reunify children in care with their birth family and support pregnant mothers to grow up healthy and safe children. Families are supported to build relationships, strengthen parenting skills, maintain a safe home environment for their children and increase their participation within community.

About the Opportunity

Anglicare NT is seeking a dedicated Senior Case Worker to work within our Family Support Service. You will provide intensive support to high-risk families with children (aged 0 - to 18 years) primarily referred by Territory Families Housing and Community (TFHC.) Strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally affirming practical in-home support and child centered family focused casework will help create nurturing environments, build capacity and keep children safe and families together.

Your professional skills, advocacy efforts, cultural competence and service provider networks will assist families access services and connect with community, culture, and country. Positive outcomes will be achieved through respectful practices, creating participation pathways and collaborative approaches.

This position will commence in January 2024, with start date negotiable.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum higher education qualifications in Social Sciences.
  • Direct practical experience (minimum 5 years) working with high risk/ vulnerable families in family support/ case work and demonstrated history of effective client engagement, culturally safe approaches and good outcomes. Knowledge of the range of services available to people with a disability and demonstrated experience in interpreting and implementing individual plans.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Caseworker role or a relevant transferable skill set.
