HelpingMinds is part of a consortium led by Carers WA as Regional Delivery Partner (RDP) for the Integrated Carer Support Service (ICSS) known as the Carer Gateway, which incorporates providing supports to carers identified in the Carer Recognition Act who provide daily care and support to people with disability, medical conditions, mental illness or who are frail aged.

The Regional Delivery Partner Carer Peer Coordinator is responsible for managing the In Person Peer Support section of the RDP service in the allocated region. This includes establishing peer support groups and allocating members, then training and supporting volunteers to ensure that the groups, once established, operate effectively. The role will also ensure the development of referral pathways to other agencies offering relevant peer support groups.
The role requires the ability to work as a team member, deliver information sessions, network with local leaders and communicate professionally and empathetically with carers. The team member will also be required to liaise with a wide range of partner organisations to raise awareness of carers within the broader community.
To be considered, candidates will have lived experience as a family member/carer of a person with a disability/medical condition/mental illness or who are frail aged and have the ability to utilise this experience constructively for the benefit of others.
