Wellbeing Specialist

Arney Recruitment

In brief:

For decades, this not-for-profit (NFP) has provided crucial support to Australians facing their darkest moments and leading the way in suicide prevention. With more people reaching out for support than ever before, they’re looking to enhance their self-support offering of clinically accurate, yet accessible information and resources.

Working in the Product and Experience team you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring mental health best practices are informing online products, services and experiences.

About the role:

A key pillar of this NFP’s strategy is to further enhance its digital presence, by offering improved online self-help information, stories and resources for Australians seeking mental health and wellbeing support.

As the Wellbeing Specialist you’ll be working closely with design, content, product, technical, and other stakeholders to support the creation and refinement of content, ensuring it is clinically accurate, informed by lived experience, and engaging for Australians no matter where they are on their help-seeking journey.

Your understanding of the mental health ecosystem in suicide prevention, including navigating clinical terminology, the latest research, and practical strategies and advice, will enable the team to produce quality, safe and clinically accurate information and resources at scale.

Most importantly, your work will have a direct, meaningful and lasting impact on thousands of Australians.

A typical day might look like:

  • Working with content specialists and product managers, including providing feedback, guidance and support on content ready for publication.
  • Communicating clinical terms in plain language that everyday Australians can understand.
  • Working closely with digital producers and business stakeholders to develop policies, processes and frameworks for content creation.
  • Researching publications and adjacent product offerings across the mental health ecosystem to help identify gaps, emerging trends and best practices.
  • Providing guidance on mental health information and resources and how these can be leveraged by digital teams and integrated into product decisions.

About you:

You’ll have direct experience in mental health, whether that be through psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field. A deep understanding of mental health trends, best practices and terminology is required for this role.

High in empathy, you'll be an expert communicator and comfortable looking at the world from a user perspective. You’ll be passionate about how digital technologies and content can be leveraged to support Australians seeking support.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, mental health, social work or a related field.
  • Experience providing clinical or mental health and wellbeing subject matter expertise.
  • A pragmatic approach to mental health best practices and guidelines with a focus on what will provide value to Australians seeking support.
  • A passion for content creation and editing and the ability to work with a team to translate clinical knowledge into accessible and engaging content.

There are some great benefits to working for this NFP too, including flexible work practices, extra training and development, 14 weeks paid parental leave, and salary packaging.
