These are complex and intersecting areas that shine a light on the barriers faced by children in underserved communities to accessing quality education. With the help of our donors, we address education inequity by investing in schools facing disadvantage, with funding and capacity-building support, tailored to meet their unique needs and improve student outcomes.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team on a maternity leave cover basis. In this role, you will provide actionable insights to support organisation-wide reporting, decision-making and advocacy initiatives aimed at enhancing education outcomes and operational efficiency.
This is a part time, 0.8 FTE, working 4 full days per week, parental leave cover role which will be offered as 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of educational data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform organisation-wide reporting and advocacy efforts.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualisations to communicate findings effectively.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarising key findings and providing recommendations.
- Oversee the collection, validation, and maintenance of data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Lead projects aimed at improving data collection, management, and analysis systems, identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
- Leverage artificial intelligence and other technologies to streamline analysis, evaluation, and reporting processes.
- Support the development and evaluation of org wide activities through data-driven insights and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and institutional policies regarding data use and sharing.
The successful applicant will have:
- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Education, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in evaluation and data analysis, preferably in the education sector or not-for-profit environment.
- Expertise with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Knowledge of public datasets for demographic and educational purposes
- Proven track record in developing data-driven insights that influence strategic decision-making.
- Understanding of, and/or experience working in the national education landscape to ensure what is being drawn out is accurate and relevant for the education sector desirable.
- Proven success and experience in working collaboratively with diverse teams to achieve a common goal and build evaluative capability
- Proficient in statistical analysis tools and database management systems.
- Experience with data visualisation tools
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of AI technologies and their application in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in advanced statistical techniques and predictive modelling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to translate evidence and capable of presenting complex data to specific target audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
