Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) has grown to become Australia's largest national educational program for children on the autism spectrum.  Aspect currently has 9 independent schools operating across 50 locations in NSW and South Australia that cater for over 1,200 students. We have more than 100 specialist Autism classes hosted on the grounds of partnership schools in less specialised settings.

About the role: 

This newly created position is an exciting opportunity to establish a Project Management Office within Aspect, and play a key role in supporting the organisation to deliver on significant growth plans and an existing, varied multi-million dollar project portfolio. The PMO Manager will review, implement and manage the project management framework by refining and developing strategies, standardised processes, policies, tools and systems, in order to build project management capability across Aspect that supports the delivery of the organisation’s core strategies.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Utilise, review and refine the agreed tools and templates used to implement Aspect’s PMO framework.
  • Provide both strategic and tactical project management advice and reports to the Aspect Executive regarding major capital projects.
  • In particular, work closely with the Head of Property and the Development and Acquisitions team, to provide project management that supports timely delivery of the Aspect Education Capital Plan (2019-2024) to ensure grants received can be acquitted in a timely manner.
  • Work with Aspect managers and teams to build their capability around project management including coaching and practical support in planning and reporting.
  • Identify key stakeholders and project dependencies, and work with relevant departments to ensure plans can be carried out effectively and dependencies are resolved timely and within agreed budget.
  • Develop and utilise appropriate reporting tools to provide timely and accurate financial and performance reporting.
  • Identify risks affecting the delivery of project outcomes and where necessary deploy contingencies to ensure completion of projects.

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • At least five years’ experience in project management, with demonstrated effective leadership and management of change
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and codes
  • Demonstrated effective self-leadership
  • High-level knowledge of dedicated project management tools and relevant MS applications including Visio, MS Project, Excel and Word.
  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, business or other relevant qualification
  • NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment

A National Police Check clearance is a requirement and Aspect will arrange this.
