Job Description

About the role: We seek an applicant who is self-motivated, has good communication skills and is able to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.

The role is permanent, part time, 4 hours per week.

Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school building and grounds to ensure it is a safe environment for the school community. Click here to view the Position Profile.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment
  • Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken
  • Handle, store and distribute goods/materials
  • Move equipment/furniture as required
  • Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter
  • Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, gardening projects

About the School: 

Aspect Macarthur School provides placement for approximately 120 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 10. Our main site is located at Cobbitty with 6 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in the Macarthur area and another main site school in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance
  • Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Trade background is desirable
  • Current driver’s licence and use of own vehicle
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment    
  • You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance
