The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies that strengthen the ASRC brand, meet financial goals, advocate for systemic change in support of people seeking asylum, and ensure clear and consistent communication across ASRC audiences.
This role is part-time, 0.8 FTE; it is a 9-month parental leave contract.
The successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, and digital media, with a strong track record of creating compelling content across various platforms. They will have expertise in developing and executing strategic communications plans that engage diverse audiences and advance brand objectives. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, are essential.
In addition, the role will be responsible for undertaking the following duties:
Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable. Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working with diverse populations, would also be advantageous.
