We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. The Community & Events Coordinator role is responsible for managing ASRC's signature events, including the Telethon and Feast for Freedom. It also involves building and maintaining relationships with schools, community groups, and other special interest groups to generate community and event fundraising income in support of the organisation's mission.
This role reports to the Fundraising Manager and is a fixed-term, part-time position at 0.6 FTE
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and organised professional with proven experience in events, community engagement, fundraising, or relationship management. In addition, the role will be responsible for undertaking the following duties:
Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable. Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working with diverse populations, would also be advantageous.
