Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum.

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

About The Role

The Payroll Clerk performs timesheet reviews, exports from the timekeeping system into the payroll system. The Payroll Clerk will also review leave, entitlements, and allowances and ensure they are actioned in accordance with the relevant award. In addition, this role requires a high level of communication in resolving staff queries.

  • Strong Excel skills to review and format exports for use
  • Data entry
  • Working within ASRC Values and Behaviours

About You

The Payroll Clerk will bring to the position a strong knowledge of and experience in Payroll and will be responsible for undertaking the following duties:

  • Reviewing timesheets for completeness
  • Processing fortnightly payroll for a 300 person organisation
  • Reviewing and respond timely to queries
  • Actioning payroll journals and accruals

Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable. Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working within a not-for-profit environment, would also be advantageous.
