Qualifications & experience

  • Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma of Community Services or a related degree are advantageous.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position or experience in the Community Services Sector is desirable.
  • Ability to follow procedures and protocols and to identify and address any gaps in process any areas of risk.
  • Initiative, adaptability and flexibility in various tasks and situations.
  • The ability to work ethically and with appropriate levels of confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively represent the community and more broadly.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, workers, and clients.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, oversee invoices and wages, ensuring financial accountability.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare comprehensive outcomes reports, deliver department updates, and contribute to board reports to showcase our impact.
  • Strategic Engagement: Attend regional managers meetings, apply for grants, and review budget performance to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Compliance and Accountability: Manage compliance with funding requirements, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead team meetings, supervise volunteers, and coordinate food relief efforts to meet community needs effectively.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Liaise with community groups, support staff, and volunteers to foster collaborative partnerships and drive our mission forward.
  • Maintains a safe, organised, and tidy work environment, promoting well-being for all.
