Okines Community House is a vibrant & welcoming community hub in the Southern Beaches. We connect residents, provide resources, & engage in programs that foster sustainability & community well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Board to implement the House’s strategic plan.
- Oversee the delivery and development of community programs that respond to community needs.
- Lead a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
- Build and nurture partnerships with local organisations, community groups, and volunteers to enhance services and support community goals.
- Develop and manage the annual budget.
- Apply for and manage grants to secure funding for community programs and initiatives.
- Manage interactions with Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania (NHT) and the Department of Premier and Cabinet DPAC.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to the DPAC.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on community engagement and relationship-building.
- A Diploma in Community Services and/or experience in community services, program management, or similar roles.
- Compassion, empathy, and commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
- Budgeting, grant writing, and financial management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively toward shared goals.
- Delegation skills and experience managing staff.
- A proactive, adaptable approach to problem-solving for community needs.
- A valid driver’s licence.
