ASYASS provides youth friendly and safe accommodation and services for young people 13-23yrs. We help young people to build strong foundations by creating a place of opportunity where they can focus on their needs and aspirations.

About the role

Coordinate the following residential services provided by ASYASS:

• Youth Refuge – emergency supported accommodation for young people 12-18 years.
• Youth Housing Project – medium term, transitional housing for young people 16 – 23 years.
• On Track Residential / Independence program.
• Ampe Akweke Place (Young Women aged 13 – 23 years).

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day to day operation of the programs.
• To abide by the goals, philosophies, policies and procedures of the service.
• Ensure reporting requirements relevant to the residential services are met.
• Ensure statistics are maintained as required.
• Assist in the development of new projects as required.

Provide supervision to workers from the above projects, including:

• Assist in the development and implement structures for effective communication, team building and debriefing.
• Assist in the facilitation of staff meetings with Team Leaders as required.
• Community Development.
• Casework.
• Provide Support to the ASYASS CEO.

Desirable:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of the Homeless Services Sector.
2. Experience in staff development, supervision and a demonstrated ability to lead a team.
3. Experience in the provision of training to small groups.
4. Experience in residential care settings.
