We have a great opportunity for someone to join our dedicated and passionate Intensive Support Case work team at ASC.
The Assessment and Intervention Coordinator role provides significant support to people seeking asylum to address their needs and the often complex and multifaceted issues that arise in this process.
Some of the key functions of this role will be to:
- Provide initial Intake assessments & identifying immediate needs for clients.
- Create person centred, collaborative Case Management Plans with clients to holistically transition a person/family to stable circumstances.
- Conduct, implement and review needs & risk assessments for clients with complex needs.
- Undertake triage, assessment and crisis response to people presenting with multiple and high needs.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in human services, social work, mental health or other relevant discipline, or relevant experience.
- Experience in coordinating case management support and goal planning for people with multiple concerns, including assessment, connections and referrals, and crisis response to people presenting with highly complex needs.
- Clear understanding of the issues faced by people seeking asylum in Australia and a commitment to assist people in achieving rights, wellness and autonomy.
- A high degree of initiative to think innovatively and creatively to solve problems.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, inclusive of paid and volunteer team members.
- Proficient in writing and maintaining records, ensuring online databases are kept current and skilled in using data for reporting and advocacy.
Desirable
- Experience in the housing / homelessness sector.
- Previous experience working with people seeking asylum or refugees.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence.
- Bi or multi-lingual skills will be highly regarded.
- Lived experience as a refugee or person seeking asylum.
