About the role 

The Officer, Emergency Services is responsible for supporting key Red Cross Emergency Services initiatives and community capacity building activities. This role will support building the capability and capacity of the staff and volunteer workforce as well as whole of community to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies along with partner agencies.

You will contribute to our strategic impact of supporting communities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. The focus of the role may be across one or more areas of emergency services work, Operations, Projects, Volunteer Management and Community Work.

What you will bring 

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver outputs within specified time frames
• Ability to set priorities, plan and organise own work and that of other staff and/or volunteers as required
• Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in project work, volunteer management or community resilience
• Ability to exercise judgement and initiative within defined policies and practices
• A current Ochre Card (Working With Children Check) and Drivers Licence are mandatory

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $82,063.28 FTE + superannuation + salary packaging.
