About the role

The Team Leader - Community Programs coordinates the delivery of the Youth Development Hub, overseeing a team of youth support workers and volunteers who work directly with young people, providing support and engagement with the following:  employment and training pathways, re-engagement with education, engagement in appropriate support services, engagement in community services, increased cultural and social wellbeing, financial capability and independence, as well as a potential decrease or elimination of antisocial behaviour.

Working as part of an integrated team, the role will collaborate with functional teams including Retail, Quality, and Child Safeguarding, to ensure our programs are informed by consumer choice, provide dignity and respect, and are responsive to identity, culture and diversity. The role will also have oversight of the coordination of volunteer team members and responsible for function of the regional offices identified.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated ability at leading a team to follow and implement established frameworks, policies, procedures, work instructions, guidelines and standards
  • Demonstrated experience working in family programs, and the desire to learn the skills required to work with families with complex needs, including those experiencing Domestic & Family Violence or those who are engaged in the Child Protection system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing programs to consumers from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including (but not limited to) First Nations, CALD and LGBTIQ+
  • Demonstrated ability to use a data driven approach to monitor performance, identify issues and propose corrective actions
  • Proven track record as an effective leader, supporting and building positive and constructive relationships within teams
  • Sound knowledge gained through experience in operational leadership of staff and/or volunteers
  • Working with Children Check and Driver Licence are required for this role

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $82,063.28 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
