About the Program:

The Back on Track program offers an alternative to detention and other pathways for diverting young people from the youth justice system. It provides assessment, case management, support, restorative justice, and education programs for young people referred to the program. The program uses a trauma-informed and strong cultural approach to build resilience and promote re-engagement in education or employment, with the aim of preventing reoffending and enhancing well-being and safety.

We Are Looking for Someone With:

To be considered for this role, you need:

• A Diploma in Community Services or Youth Justice or equivalent, or significant experience and the capacity to undertake further education.
• Previous experience in a similar role within a support service setting for children/young people.
• Experience or strong knowledge in the area of child abuse and working with traumatised children.
• Proficiency in case planning and the ability to set goals and tasks to address risks.
• Understanding of the complexity of the service system and the challenges of providing services to statutory clients.
• Experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Highly developed ability to provide culturally appropriate advice and services.
• Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively and the ability to negotiate and liaise with volunteers, Territory Families, other agencies, and the community.
• Possession of a current Northern Territory driver's licence or equivalent.
• A current Working with Children Check or equivalent.
