About the Role:

As Carer Recruitment and Support Officer of the Out of Home Care Program, you play a crucial role in actively supporting the recruitment and support of foster carers. Your responsibilities will include overseeing recruitment processes and carer assessments, managing onboarding and administration, cultivating community connections, and facilitating information sessions.

Additionally, your role includes providing essential support for carers, ensuring they have the guidance and resources needed to offer loving and stable homes for children and young people in the program. This position is instrumental in nurturing a compassionate and skilled community of foster carers, dedicated to providing crucial support and a stable environment for children and young people in care.

About You/Key Selection Criteria

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience and knowledge of contemporary carer recruitment practices.
  • An appropriate qualification and/or relevant experience in social work, psychology, or occupational therapy.
  • Experience in out-of-home care, welfare, social, or community services sectors.
  • The ability to create custom media and marketing activities for foster care recruitment.
  • Training and assessment skills, including presentation and facilitation.
  • A collaborative approach and strong relationship-building skills.
  • High professional and personal ethics, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
  • A current driver's license and Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Personal values consistent with our organisation's values.
