As an industry leader in child safe organisations, the Australian Childhood Foundation provides education, consultancy and advisory services, reviews and evaluations, auditing, training and an accreditation program which helps organisations to strengthen their capacity to protect children and young people in their care.

The Australian Childhood Foundation has also developed a reputation for providing high quality education and training programs for a range of professionals on child abuse, trauma and related issues. It is also a Registered Training Organisation (TOID 22094) and the accredited training provided by the Foundation is rapidly expanding.

ACF has created a new operational division which brings together what has been traditionally identified as its Safeguarding Children Services and Professional Education Services. The new division will focus on integrating learning opportunities and capability functions at individual and organisational levels. It will create learning products and initiatives that mobilise knowledge in different formats making them accessible to a wide range of potential consumers. The working title of the new Division is Prevention, Capability and Impact Services. Further consultation with stakeholders will lead to the finalisation of the name of the new Division in the coming months.

About the role:

The Strategic Projects Consultant will be responsible for the planning, management, and implementation of various high-profile national, large, and/or complex projects relevant to the activities of the Safeguarding Children Service.

The Strategic Projects Consultant will work both autonomously and closely with the Divisional Leadership team to monitor and review the implementation of each project plan in line with identified strategic objectives and key milestones.

About You/ Key Selection Criteria:

Mandatory

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. Demonstrated experience in the end-to-end management of large, complex and sensitive projects.
  • Strong contemporary knowledge of Safeguarding Children and Young people processes, research and practice.
  • Organisational consulting experience that enables capacity building, skills and policy development.
  • Sound analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant project management methodologies.
  • Sound interpersonal skills, including demonstrated capacity to negotiate sensitive and complex issues with specific expertise in conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a learning culture and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to form strong partnerships with all levels of management with both internal / external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and responsively in a dynamic environment.
  • A current Australian driver’s license or equivalent.
  • A current Working with Children Check or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Highly developed communications skills, including writing skills.
  • Capacity to work creatively and independently.
  • Personal values consistent with the values of the organisation.

Remuneration & Benefits:
