The Australian Childhood Foundation is renowned for its clinical services, professional training, and secondary consultation, all rooted in the latest evidence-based theoretical frameworks, including neurobiology of trauma, attachment, relational theories, and child development.
As a Therapeutic Specialist in Mildura, you will be part of team providing clinical programs for young people engaging in harmful sexual behaviour, supporting the young people and their caregivers in the DFFH North Division. The program spans the North Metro Area, Loddon Area, and Mallee Area, with the focus of this role being in the Mallee region. Your primary responsibilities include offering support, training and consultation to the team working with children or young people engaged in harmful sexual behaviour and residing in residential care.
Moreover, you will deliver direct clinical practice and support to children, young people, their families, and care systems within the region. This typically involves working with children and young people in out-of-home care, providing individual and family counselling, therapeutic assessment and planning, care team support, carer support, report writing, psychoeducation, and training. This position is 3 days per week, for a fixed term contract of 12 months - with potential for ongoing.
