About the Australian Copyright Council

The Australian Copyright Council is an independent, not-for-profit organisation representing the peak bodies for professional artists and content creators working in Australia’s creative industries and Australia’s major copyright collecting societies. We work to promote understanding of copyright law and its application, for appropriate law reform and fostering collaboration between content creators and users.

The job

We are looking for a lawyer (1 year + PAE) with a working knowledge of Australian copyright law to join the Council’s legal team in providing legal advice, work on Council publications and submissions and deliver webinars, seminars and training across Australia.

Your qualifications

You have at least 1 year post admission experience (with a current NSW practising certificate) with an intellectual property focus, ideally in copyright.

You have good presentation skills and are able to travel domestically to deliver seminars and training covering aspects of copyright law to creators and users.

You are a collaborative, hands on team player, happy to work autonomously and flexibly in a small, pet friendly office with no time sheets!

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.

For further information, see www.copyright.org.au or contact 02 9101 2377.
