About the role

We are looking for someone to join our team who can apply their unique skillset across the communications and fundraising portfolios. As a Communications and Engagement Coordinator, you will work as a part of an established team to deliver a range of engagement activities across these portfolios. The role would suit a communications and design allrounder with a broad range of skills.

The role will encompass a wide range of functions, with a particular focus on digital communications, website management, database management, graphic design and engaging with AMS supporters through events and campaigns. It will include a range of communications & marketing support including the preparation of content for various target audiences, preparing campaigns, EDMs, media releases, social media content, organising community events and internal communications.

Duties will include:

  • Managing engagement and content delivery across multiple social media channels. Experience using Loomly and google analytics will be favoured.
  • Creating finished graphic design artwork for digital and print experience using Adobe Illustrator will be favoured.
  • Managing content updates of the AMS website, experience using Wordpress will be favoured.
  • Design and creation of assets across all types of media, including newsletters, print, video, web, social and digital media.
  • Development of copy for assets across all types of media, including newsletters, print, video, web, social and digital media.
  • Supporting with print and digital collateral for fundraising campaigns.
  • Organising community and fundraising events.
  • Day to day use of a CRM to deliver and track communication.
  • Employing best practice standards for all marketing and communication activities.
  • Monitoring and preparing reports on communications & fundraising activities to measure effective project delivery and produce reporting on campaigns and advertising.
  • Engaging with and supporting our donors, schools and supporters.
  • Providing operational support to AMS team where required.

About You

You’re a focused individual who enjoys performing your responsibilities to the highest level. You have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and are able to build strong relationships with those around you. You have strong digital literacy and are competent in navigating multiple social media channels and software associated with the delivery of communications and fundraising functions with the ability to learn quickly in situations where you are unfamiliar.

You will be an enthusiastic self-starter with a can-do attitude and a keen interest in community engagement and a passion for creating a positive impact through your work. You will be available to work onsite in leafy Ashgrove with access to working from home and will thrive in an open and collaborative team setting.

You will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a similar role either in a not-for-profit or industry with transferrable skillsets.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, including excellent self-management and autonomy, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience using Wordpress for website management
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and an ability to influence both upwards and across the organisation.
  • A strong understanding of digital marketing and social media.
  • Relevant qualifications would be advantageous but not necessary
  • An understanding of and commitment to working within the catholic ethos and in the spirit of the Marist charism.

Additional Skills (non-essential)

  • Copywriting experience
  • Experience creating a variety of digital assets for social media including video format reels
  • Experience using workflow management software such as Trello and Teams
  • Experience with CRM such as E-Tapestry
  • Experience using InDesign

Other Requirements

Australian Marist Solidarity has zero tolerance of abuse of those who are vulnerable and a strong commitment to their safeguarding.

Prior to commencing with AMS you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check and hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
