AVBC is looking for an energetic administration officer who is keen to develop their skills assisting the leaders of the veterinary profession. Context

The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council acts on behalf of member registration boards of Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Veterinary Association and the New Zealand Veterinary Association. The AVBC and member boards are responsible for ensuring that the public can be confident about the standard of veterinary practice of any veterinarian generalist or specialist – registered in Australasia.

This part-time role has two main functions:

  • supporting the AVBC standing committee, the Advisory Committee on Registration of Veterinary Specialists (ACRVS), and
  • assisting in achieving the goals of the AVBC Communications Plan.

Position Purpose

The Administration Officer (ACRVS and Communications) supports the work of the committee of veterinary specialists through the co-ordination of specialist applications, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and supports Communications by publishing paper based, electronic and web-based materials. The whole team provides general administrative support for the Council as needed.
