We’re looking for a Augmentative Alternative Communication mentor for children with disabilities who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Indonesia
This assignment seeks to introduce methods and communication using the Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) technique for the UPTD LDPI team to help children with disabilities with communication barriers.
You will be working alongside local staff and developing their skills further in alternative communication for children with disabilities.
As a volunteer, you will give support to the disability area and create change within Indonesia.
Padang Education Department, through the Implementing Unit Area Technical Disabilities Services and Inclusive Education (UPTD. LDPI), is an institution of government that serves society. UPTD. LDPI started its operation in 2014. This institution has given assessment services for children with disabilities.
Nowadays, UPTD. LDPI has assessed children with disabilities, approximately 4877 children (October 2022 ), with details 3389 male and 1488 female. In addition, UPTD. Disabilities Services and Inclusive Education also has given integrated intervention services (Occupational Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Speech Therapy ) to 427 children with disability.
