We’re looking for a Clinical Nutritionist Mentor who can volunteer remotely from home for 6 months. 

• This assignment seeks to improve the nutrition of the school community by reviewing menus, suggesting appropriate improvements and support training for staff involved.
• To be considered for this role, you’ll need a qualification as a Clinical Nutritionist or relevant training and some experience working with people with disabilities in regards to nutrition.
• You will be working alongside the local team, supporting and training them to carry the work forward sustainably.

About the Partner Organisation

The Thuso E TlaTsoa Kae Centre, based in Butha-Buthe, Lesotho, strives to provide a supportive learning environment for its 89 students living with disabilities. The Centre aims to assist their students to gain skills to live as independently as possible and ensure they have a meaningful role in their families and communities. The team works on goal setting with parents and teachers involvement to learn basic life skills activities.

The nutritionist volunteer will assist with providing guidance regarding suitable menus, optimum food preparation, as well as foods to avoid.  It is important for the organisation to put in place structures that support their students to ensure they maintain a healthy lifestyle.

AUD $79 per month.   

Requirements

• All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
• A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
• A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
