We’re looking for a Nutritionist who can live and volunteer in the Solomon Islands for 12 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development across the Oceania Region.
The Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport is an initiative of the Solomon Islands Government, to support athletes, coaches and National Federations of Solomon Islands who compete at international competitions, including sports that represent Team Solomons at the major multi-sport events. SINIS provides centralised performance services, programs and training facilities to 1200 athletes and 100 coaches on scholarships across 30 different sports. Solomon Islands are hosting the 2023 Pacific Games and SINIS has been established to support the preparations of Team Solomons.
A nutritionist will provide additional skills and knowledge in this field to support the best outcomes for the country.
The volunteer will support a multidisciplinary team offering a holistic approach to preparation of athletes and coaches as they ready themselves for many levels of training and competition environments. The volunteer would follow an evidence based, practically applied, context specific approach to enhance the skills and knowledge of local staff, coaches and other practitioners by providing nutrition expertise for the food service programs.
We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer internationally and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. Find out more
