We’re looking for a Policy and Planning Support Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Vanuatu. 

• This assignment seeks to strengthen the Ministry’s policy development and planning capacities, principally to complete a National Sports Strategic plan for Vanuatu and provide support and advice in policies development for key projects to build the skills of staff in these areas.
• To be considered for this role, you’ll need qualifications in Planning and Policy development or relevant field at Degree level or higher, and practical experience in formulating policies and development plans in the government or youth sector. 
• You will be working alongside the Planner and M&E Officers as well as the Executive Officer. Overall working with the Corporate Services team reporting to the Director General of the Ministry. 

About the Partner Organisation 

The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports (MYDS) is charged with the government portfolio responsible for managing youth and sports development in Vanuatu. It runs programs to support young people to live a productive lifestyle, participate in development process, and get involved in social activities, especially sports. More recently it is venturing into skills and leadership development.

The Ministry is the smallest and newest of government ministries and requires the assistance of a skilled policy and planning advisor to assist them with their institutional strengthening drive.
