The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian Government funded initiative managed by AVI. The program supports organisations across the Pacific, Asia and Africa to achieve locally-led change and the realisation of Sustainable Development Goals, by matching skilled Australians to volunteer with partner organisations.

This role will be part of the Volunteer Services team and is key in providing administrative, operational and logistic support for a range of activities supporting volunteers.

KEY responsibilities:

As a key member of the Volunteer Services team, you will:

  • Provide operational support to multiple departments within the Volunteer Services team, including but not limited to Volunteer Mobilisation and Post-Assignment Support;
  • Utilise your event coordination skills by organising materials and logistics for pre-defined events for volunteers;
  • Assist in the delivery of various projects related to improving the volunteers' experience with the Australian Volunteers Program.

position requirements:

Some of the key requirements of the role include:

  • Strong understanding of and experience in administration service provision in a professional, and preferably global context;
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and influencing skills and the ability to gain cooperation from external stakeholders;
  • Strong customer service focus with capacity to answer queries from a range of stakeholders
  • Proven administrative skills, including attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize tasks;
  • Familiarity with online presentation / webinar platforms (e.g. Zoom)

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business administration, project coordination, and/or equivalent experience.
