Baby Give Back’s mission is to give children a safe start to life by providing essential items to families in crisis. We are passionate about improving the welfare of vulnerable families in our community. We believe every child deserves a safe start to life no matter the circumstances into which they are born.

The purpose of our service is to help break the cycle of disadvantage for families living in poverty by providing immediate access to resources and essential items. This allows parents and caregivers to better support their child’s development and have hope for a better future. Our support is provided through social and health support workers, as a soft entry engagement tool.

Baby Give Back is in an exciting growth phase and we are looking for an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our team as we work to reach more vulnerable Queensland children.

THE ROLE

This new role will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies to engage donors and cultivate relationships that support the mission of Baby Give Back. You will oversee the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns, manage donor stewardship programs, and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure alignment with organisational goals. Your expertise in philanthropic trends and existing relationships will drive our efforts to secure new financial support and enhance our impact across Queensland.

As the line manager for our Impact Manager, you will oversee and guide their efforts to fundraise and engage with our community of donors, volunteers and supporters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute philanthropic strategies to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Grow and maintain relationships with corporate partners, major donors and trusts and foundations.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with potential major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Plan and manage fundraising campaigns, including our Giving Day, events, and appeals.
  • Manage donor stewardship activities to ensure strong relationships and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate within our team to align fundraising efforts with organisational priorities and initiatives.
  • Prepare compelling funding proposals, reports, and presentations for existing and potential donors.
  • Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance metrics, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay informed about philanthropic trends, best practices, and compliance requirements to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Flexibility to represent Baby Give Back at events.

What skills and experience are we looking for in a Philanthropy Manager?

  • A growth mindset and willingness to embrace opportunities for learning and development.
  • Values driven and passionate about shaping change for vulnerable children.
  • Existing relationships within the philanthropic sector in Queensland.
  • Proven career experience in a relevant relationship management role; fundraising, business development, sales, customer service. Ideally across major gift fundraising.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practice within philanthropy, donor segmentation and major fundraising.
  • Experience delivering financial results within a charity or business development role.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing persuasive proposals and presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with a CRM database such as Salesforce.
  • A relevant degree, such as business, marketing or communications.
