About the Role

The Salesforce and CRM Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Balanced Effect team in the development and implementation of database solutions for our purpose driven clients.

You will be responsible for managing and nurturing client relationships, with a primary focus on Salesforce solutions. You will collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, develop and execute strategies to drive adoption and satisfaction with Salesforce products and services. Additionally, you will work closely with internal teams to ensure successful implementation, integration, and ongoing support.

This role requires a strong understanding of Salesforce, CRM and fundraising concepts, as well as the ability to translate user requirements into practical solutions.

This full-time role offers flexibility in working hours, with some work based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne as well as remote work.

Here are the key responsibilities and required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role:

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients. Act as the main point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and escalations. Understand clients' business objectives and challenges to provide tailored Salesforce solutions.
  2. Salesforce Configuration: Perform various Salesforce tasks for Balanced Effect clients, including making changes to objects such as fields, page layouts, automations, flows, customisable roll-ups, record types, and conducting testing and sandbox deployment.
  3. Reports and Dashboards: Create and manage reports and dashboards related to donors, opportunities, campaigns, recurring giving and custom objects.
  4. User and License Management: Handle user and license management tasks, including setting up new users, deactivating accounts, managing roles, profiles, permissions, and public groups.
  5. Data Management: Ensure data quality by conducting checks and cleaning, standardising and consolidating data, performing data extraction, and executing mass updates to records. Also, identify and merge duplicate records.
  6. Other Duties: Translate user and stakeholder requirements into functionality, integrate third-party applications with Salesforce, develop training materials, document completed work, assist with other non-profit databases and conduct best practice research.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Time Management and Efficiency: Possess good time management skills and efficient work practices to handle various tasks promptly.
  2. Proactive Attitude: Display a proactive approach to platform enhancements, constantly seeking ways to improve processes.
  3. Desire for Best Practices: Demonstrate a strong desire to implement best practice solutions, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.
  4. Responsiveness: Be available and responsive to questions and requests from team members and clients.
  5. Salesforce Knowledge: Have a deep understanding of Salesforce sharing and security concepts, including roles, profiles, permissions, object-level security and sharing rules.
  6. Salesforce Experience: Have at least 2 years of experience in Salesforce administration and configuration, in particular field updates, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards, reports and automations.
  7. Continued Personal/Professional Development: Show enthusiasm for continuous personal and professional growth, staying informed about Salesforce developments and best practices.
