Banksia Gardens Community Services is seeking a motivated and compassionate Team Leader to join our Community Development and Youth Department. This newly created position will support the delivery of BGCS’s case management support for children, youth and families – including Targeted Care Packages (TCP) and support for young people with contact with the justice system.

The successful candidate will have experience delivering support for young people with complex needs and the leadership skills needed to support frontline staff and continue to develop our programs.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of frontline staff delivering support to children, youth and families
• Continuing to develop and improve our service offering
• Working collaboratively with the leadership team to improve our service
• Managing a small caseload

The ideal candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work or related field
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience
• An understanding of the child protection system
• Experience with the delivery of Targeted Care Packages
• Experience working with children and young people who have had Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A valid driver's license
