Barkly Regional Arts is a leading not-for-profit organisation that has provided innovative art, music, and event programs across the Barkly region of the Northern Territory for over 20 years. We collaborate with remote Indigenous communities to foster access, development, and recognition of arts in the Barkly. Our art celebrates and preserves ancient cultures and languages, bringing the community together, fostering social and spiritual fulfilment, and providing employment and income.
The Artistic Director is a dynamic leadership role which oversees the organisation's three streams of programming – visual arts, music and media, and events. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the organisation's public program and with the Operational Director, responsible for organisational leadership and the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
We are seeking a creative and strategic thinker, able to deliver innovative and engaging arts programs. The successful applicant will be a motivated and skilled arts professional with experience working in the Indigenous arts sector. They will have a strong track record in arts program management and a good understanding of visual arts, music, and event programming.
As an experienced manager, you will be able to lead, motivate and manage staff performance in their roles. You will be a collaborative worker with a team-focused approach. You are able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
In return for your expertise, Barkly Regional Arts is offering a competitive remuneration package of $90,000 - $95,000, 10.5% superannuation, salary packaging, and subsidised housing.
