Barkly Regional Arts (BRA) is a renowned leader in Australian Community Arts, based in Tennant Creek and servicing the Barkly region.
BRA Music, Media and Events Manager is responsible for developing and managing the for the Winanjjikari Music Centre, media and annual events and festival program of BRA.
This is an exciting opportunity to be actively involved with leading innovative grassroots music, media programs and events, including the Desert Harmony Festival in Tennant Creek.
BRA works with community to provide a healthy arts and cultural program by providing platforms for local talent, and well recognised Australian performance groups to show their talents in the Barkly Region. This important work is a key aspect of supporting, maintaining and preserving local Indigenous cultures via their engagement in music, arts and media.
This position promotes the work, reputation and success stories of Barkly Regional Arts at every contact opportunity with all stakeholders including community groups, individuals, government, organisations, institutions and the corporate sector.
As Music, Media and Events Manager you will coordinate a multi-faceted music, media and events program. You are passionate about music and media, have relevant qualifications &/or considerable industry experience in project planning, managing, implementing and evaluating high quality music functions and events. You have strong technical skills in music and performance management and media, and a keen desire to work within local communities. You have experience in community cultural development and are innovative, creative and adaptive. You have excellent written and spoken communication skills and are able to work cross-culturally in the diverse landscape of the Northern Territory.
