POSITION SUMMARY

The Design & Development Team (D&D Team) is a high-performance project team structured with specialised roles mapped to a design process. The team’s projects are varied in complexity, often directly tied to external funding or internally driven to meet the dynamic needs of young people. D&D projects aim to, but are not limited to, achieving a direct positive impact on young people and their communities.

In line with the D&D Team’s focus on innovation and participatory design practices, the Impact Evaluation Lead will play a seminal role in the development and evaluation of our pioneering and innovative programs. They will oversee the continuing development and strengthening of batyr’s impact evaluation framework for all our activities and programs, helping build a functional and valued culture of measurement across all teams in the organisation.

Working collaboratively with the D&D Team’s ‘Knowledge Lead’, they will ensure our programmatic activities and offerings will be based on evidence and our data translated into insights and outcomes that the ‘Content Lead’ can use to create meaningful and engaging programs. They will ensure our outcomes exist within a measurable framework and align to the organisational Theory of Change and 2030 Strategy. They will drive the review of our implementation and evaluation processes, and ensure we are measuring impact in a way that is best practice, using indicators that are aligned with the ecosystem batyr operates in.

The Impact Evaluation Lead will be responsible for designing impact measurement and reporting processes (e.g. generating surveys, setting up Salesforce dashboards) and will also work closely with the D&D Team’s ‘Implementation Lead’ to ensure our Programs and Delivery teams are trained and supported in using any new programs’ measurement processes.

This role reports to the ‘Design & Development Manager’ based in Sydney.

All candidates will need to hold a current Working with Children Check and Police Check, or be willing to obtain these within one (1) month of starting the role.

  • Providing consultation on impact evaluation and outcome development processes internally
  • Leading batyr’s independent impact evaluation projects in partnership with external research stakeholders (including overseeing contracts, stakeholder relationships and project progression)
  • Communicating batyr's impact to internal and external stakeholders
