We are a preventative youth mental health charity created and driven by young people for young people. We empower young people with the confidence and skills to overcome tough times and look out for each other. We work to create stigma-free communities that champion young people’s mental health and well-being. Our vision is a world where all young people lead mentally healthy and fulfilling lives.
We are an energetic, fun and dynamic team passionate about creating meaningful change for youth mental health. Excitingly, we are on the hunt to build our team with even more passionate, skilled and driven people to continue to develop our high-performance culture and expand the reach and impact of batyr. If you want a workplace where you can bring your full, weird and wonderful self to the office daily, this is the place.
You are a people person who thrives off the energy, creativity and perspectives of others. You value teamwork, collaboration and relationship building and approach both challenges and new opportunities with enthusiasm, openness and curiosity. The thought of leading the communications and brand strategy for batyr and managing a talented cross-functional team excites you. Your experience makes you the ideal person for the role.
You live with purpose and make decisions aligned with your values. You are self-motivated and you love to inspire and motivate others to pursue what matters most. You have epic problem-solving skills, love driving new ideas, remain calm under pressure and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty with crucial day-to-day operations with the support of the team.
As with all of our employees, you will have an active interest in tackling the stigma in young people around mental health and are aligned to batyr’s five values; empathy, inclusivity, balance, positivity and boldness.

The role will focus on building batyr’s brand and reputation and developing high level communications that engage a diverse range of audiences (including young people, educators, Government, funders/philanthropists and the mental health sector). All audiences need to be well represented and connect with the batyr brand, campaigns and messages, no matter if it’s young people in regional Australia to the Prime Minister on Capital Hill.
The Head of Brand and Communications is a senior leadership position at batyr and will be looked upon to represent the brand and values of the organisation each day internally amongst colleagues and externally amongst peers and the broader community. This role will report directly to the Director of Marketing and Fundraising based in Sydney.
