The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with the 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for Australia’s 870,000+ registered health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
Engaging with our diverse stakeholders to build trust and confidence in us as the national health practitioner regulator is a key priority for Ahpra. In Victoria, the State Manager works with senior external stakeholders and we are looking for the right person to support that liaison work.
This is a full-time, fixed term role of approximately 12 months, with a combination of office days and work from home – the best of both worlds!
Ahpra requires all employees to comply with Ahpra policies, which includes the flexible working policy.
Working in the Victorian and National Ahpra office, this high volume role within Ahpra’s Engagement function is a key intersection between the 500+ people in the Ahpra Melbourne office and the complex Victorian health sector.
We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in providing local office management, administration support, and secretariat support, with a passion for stakeholder engagement to take on our Engagement Liaison Officer role. You will use your skills in time management, project coordination, facilitation, and engagement to actively develop and maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will collaborate closely with the Victorian State Manager in this dynamic role. Highly motivated and personable, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to deliver our Ahpra Engagement Strategy, and to understand what our community needs from Ahpra and the National Boards.
You embody our values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Achievement, which in turn builds on the trust and credibility you will develop with key stakeholders. This will allow you to provide excellence in service delivery, engage widely, and actively contribute to the positive culture of the Melbourne office.
This role is yours to own, working with people committed to the protection of the public through empathetic regulation of 16 registered health professions across 15 National Boards.

Our new Melbourne office, located on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People, is a purpose-built office centrally located in the QV building. Offering a fresh modern space with natural light, plants, and workspaces designed to suit different work styles and needs, we are excited to settle into our new space. You will be part of a national organisation with offices and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in each of Australia's capital cities.
We are proud to have a friendly and supportive working culture that encourages genuine work/life balance and flexibility. We have a hybrid blend of work from home and office based - the best of both worlds to encourage collaboration within our teams.
Your health and well-being are important - we offer discounts on Health Insurance (Medibank), annual flu vaccinations, and provide access to an Employee Assistance Program.
Offer of employment is subject to successful background (pre-employment screening) and Criminal History checks.
