The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

This is a full time, ongoing role based in any Ahpra office, working a hybrid arrangement.  Ahpra requires all employees to comply with Ahpra policies, including our Flexible working policy

The Executive Assistant to the National Director, Registration is responsible for the provision of confidential executive support services to the National Director including first-line liaison and organising, prioritising and managing tasks.

The role is also responsible for working with and providing operational support to the National Registration Leadership Team (NRLT) including analysis of information, support for projects and organisational reporting and sourcing technical advice and expertise. 

The role supports engagement with registration teams across multiple locations and will be required to apply Ahpra’s principles for virtual teams.  The role helps to foster a culture of team-collaboration and will support the NRLT in the delivery of staff wellbeing programs

 In this role you will: 

  • Provide effective, high quality and confidential executive support services to the National Director.
  • Analyse enquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders, be proactive in determining and take appropriate action on behalf of the National Director, including where appropriate, the redirection and escalation of enquiries to the appropriate people
  • Actively coordinate information flow and information requests and support development and drafting of written communications, correspondence and reports  
  • Respond to stakeholder requests, collate and disseminate information and resolve standard problems
  • Recommend and implement changes and adaptions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and/or quality of outcomes for the Registrations and/or the National Director’s office, including the identification of opportunities for improvement to systems and process

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following: 

  • Hold a Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or equivalent and/or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level executive support in a professional and confidential manner, including the ability to exercise sound judgement in identifying and managing priorities, managing stakeholder expectations and needs and meeting deadlines and commitments
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and senior executives, coupled with the ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
