The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

This is a Full time, fixed term, opportunity to be based in Melbourne.
Reporting to the Program Manager – Future Assessment Strategy, this position will play a key role in supporting the review and refinement of the assessment strategy for Internationally Qualified Nurses and Midwives (IQNM).
In this dynamic role, you will help drive the development of policy, processes, and project deliverable that contribute to the strategic director of Ahpra’s initiatives in the health and regulator sectors.
Your focus will be on ensuring that operational and policy advice aligns with the current legislation, establish best practices. You will contribute to the implementation of key project components, facilitate consultation and communications with stakeholders and provide specialist advice to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, within scope and to the highest standards. The project may expand to include other professions in due course.
You are highly organised and results driven professional, strong project management skills and policy development skills. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable you to draft clear high quality reports and facilitate effective meetings and workshops.
With a strong analytical mindset you bring experience in research and consultation to inform policy development and contribute valuable expertise to project teams.
You will have a genuine passion for improving healthcare systems and a deep commitment to deliver high quality impactful outcomes.
