The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
This is a full time, fixed term (12 months, with possible extension) role, and whilst a preferred location is Melbourne, applications outside this jurisdiction are welcomed.
Reporting to the Program Manager – Streamlined pathways (multi-profession), the Senior Policy and Project Officer – Streamlined pathways (multi-profession) supports Ahpra in its regulatory work through progressing the implementation and delivery of policy and relevant projects relating to Kruk Review recommendations.
A key focus of the role is to support the review of registration pathways for non-medical International Qualified Health Practitioners. That includes the development of new and revised streamlined pathways, registration standards, guidelines and relevant explanatory material. The role will ensure policy advice and guidance is consistent with current legislation, established approaches and agreed principles.
