The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS) for health professionals. We support safe, professional practice and behaviour by Australia’s 800,000+ registered health practitioners.
The Ahpra Regulatory Experience and Engagement Team (REET) develops strategies and implements initiatives that improve the experience, trust and confidence of people connecting with Ahpra and National Boards. We are committed to the work in Identifying and minimising distress for practitioners involved in a regulatory process with recommendations to be implemented progressively over 2023–25.
Working closely with the REET team, this role is responsible for leading implementation to completion of several key actions arising from the recommendations of the Expert Advisory Group (EAG) on Minimising Practitioner Distress.
This important role works closely with key functions within Ahpra to ensure that the framework, principles, policies and process for our response to the serious incidents of distress of those involved in our processes is evidence-based, is safe and supportive for staff and decision makers.
This is a 6 month (potential to be extended) contract in a full time capacity however we are open to flexible arrangements including part time.

Your ability to recognise and resolve sensitive issues and provide high level, sound advice within a regulatory framework will be critical to success. You will work collaboratively with a number of people and teams to improve Ahpra’s internal process for identifying and responding to serious incidents involving distress of people involved in our processes
Your previous experience includes strong research, conceptual, analytical and report writing skills to enable policy interpretation, and process development with confidence.
