Fundraising & Communications Manager

The Fundraising & Communications Manager will collaborate with colleagues to implement BAWA’s fundraising and communications, particularly acquiring donors and expanding BAWA’s reach globally.

The Fundraising & Communications Manager will manage most of BAWA’s fundraising channels including grants and mass emails, and will cultivate relationships with donors and funding organisations.

This is a newly created position, reporting to the Director/Founder.

Remote work will be considered dependent on experience.

While full-time employment is preferred, BAWA is open to part-time as well.

Core Responsibilities

• Increase BAWA’s income, in collaboration with the Director/Founder
• Write and edit grant proposals
• Cultivate relationships with individual donors and contacts at funding organisations
• Collaborate with colleagues to create email appeals and newsletters, including research, writing, and layout
• Research and identify potential funding organisations
• Liaise with BAWA’s overseas support groups
• Write reports to funders on the use of grants, annual reports, and program reports
• Write updates for funding organisations and major donors

Additional Responsibilities

Conduct and/or oversee the following:

• Advise about social media strategy
• Analyse each mass email's open rate, click rate, etc., research best practices, and optimise BAWA’s mass emails
• Maintain the donor database
• Ensure donations are processed and donors are thanked promptly
• Fill other roles and complete tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Excellent writing skills in English
• Excellent administrative skills including organisation and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within deadlines
• Demonstrated passion for animal welfare
• Experience in fundraising and/or communications for animal charities is strongly preferred
