BAWA is recruiting a versatile, well-rounded staff member to live in Bali and collaborate with colleagues to implement BAWA’s communications and fundraising, particularly expanding BAWA’s reach globally. The goals are to increase the size and engagement of BAWA’s audience, and build stronger relationships with donors that result in increased donations.

The specific job responsibilities can be tailored to the applicant’s skills and experience.

Location: Ubud, Bali. Remote work will be considered dependent on experience.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Represent BAWA in general communications with supporters and other members of the public
  • Cultivate relationships with donors
  • Collect information from other BAWA staff, write social media posts, and reply to comments
  • Support the Director/Founder of BAWA with writing and other projects as needed
  • Supervise and collaborate with colleagues who manage social media, graphic design, and digital media
  • Write articles for the media, blog posts, and website content
  • Fill other roles and complete tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing skills in English
  • Excellent administrative skills including organisation and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within deadlines
  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Experience in communications and/or fundraising for animal charities is strongly preferred

Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) is a nonprofit organisation registered in Indonesia, Australia, and the US, and based in Bali. BAWA’s vision is for all of Bali’s villages to be their own animal sanctuaries, where all beings are treated with compassion and respect. BAWA works every day to save, protect and improve the lives of all animals in Bali and beyond.

BAWA provides numerous programs for sustainable improvement in animal welfare, including humane dog population management, One Health, disaster response, rabies control, and extensive education and advocacy programs. BAWA works directly to relieve the suffering of animals by providing emergency rescue, food and medication, and rehabilitation and adoption. These programs are supported by educational outreach to schools, universities and villages, as well as individuals.
