About the role

The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the OSHC service, ensuring compliance with all regulations, supporting staff, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and well-being. The role will assist the Education Multi/Site Lead and Educational Programs Lead in exceptional service delivery, programs and engaging educational experiences during service operating hours. This role is Responsible Person for their home site.

  • Ensure the service consistently operates in full compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, NQF, and NQS
  • Lead the team in critical reflection and self-assessment processes to identify areas for enhancement, ensuring that the service not only meets but exceeds regulatory requirements
  • Implement and maintain daily quality assurance and risk management practices to ensure high standards of safety, hygiene, and wellbeing.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, and daily checks and address potential hazards immediately. Promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among staff.
  • Act as a point of contact for families, addressing their concerns and providing information about the service.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and the community. Facilitate open and transparent communication between staff, children, families, and the community.
  • Foster a culture of professional growth by encouraging ongoing training, mentorship, and development opportunities for all staff. Promote reflective practice and critical thinking through regular professional development sessions.
  • Support the implementation of wellbeing initiatives developed by the Educational Leader or management, ensuring they are integrated into daily routines. Provide day-to-day support for children and staff experiencing
  • Promote and enforce daily safety practices among staff and children through routine safety checks and regular training sessions. Ensure immediate response to any safety concerns or incidents, maintaining a safe environment at all times.
  • Support the implementation of high-quality, responsive educational programs developed by the Educational Leader, ensuring alignment with approved learning frameworks and the service philosophy.

About You

  • Experience working within a school, OSHC and/or early education centre strongly desired
  • Experience in program planning, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation.
  • Experience as an educator, program facilitator or like role in an OSHC, school, or youth setting
  • Diploma or Certificate IV Children’s Services, OSHC, Recreation highly desired, Degree or Diploma Primary Teaching preferred
  • Child Protection qualifications, First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis management certification
  • Experience as an educator, program facilitator or like role in an Education setting
  • Knowledge of the NQF, Child Safe Standards, My Time Our Place
  • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate activities that meet the needs and interests of children, within an OSHC setting
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
