The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has been made available for a qualified Grade 1 or Grade 2 Dietitian to join our Dietetics and Allied Health team.

Reporting to the Allied Health Manager, you will deliver dietetics services to the clients of the Ballarat Community in the Ballarat and Golden Plains regions and contribute to the development and delivery of chronic disease programs, with an emphasis on self-management by the client.

The Dietitian operates across all Community Health Programs for clients presenting with a broad range of conditions, assist individuals, groups and other stakeholders to attain, maintain and promote health through improved nutrition. You will be required to undertake assessments, nutritional management, education and case management.

The Dietitian will also provide a range of prevention strategies including health promotion activities and support other community-based health services, and may include assistance in screening, facilitating education and support groups.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in nutritional science providing acceptable criteria to register as an APD
  • Current registration or eligibility for membership of DAA
  • Thorough understanding of the nutrition principles required to work within a community health setting
  • Experience with and a strong understanding of working with early intervention in chronic disease
