About the Organisation:

The Australasian Gastro‐Intestinal Trials Group is a leading cancer research organisation conducting vital clinical trial research and testing new treatments for gastro-intestinal cancer.

The GI Cancer Institute is the public face of the organisation and raises awareness and funds for research into gastro-intestinal cancer.

About the Role:

No two days will be the same in this exciting and collaborative role!

You will report to the Finance and Operations Manager and will provide administrative support across the entire team, ensuring smooth operations for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a broad range of administrative services, including general administration support – such as coordinating internal/external meetings, and being the internal point of contact for IT queries (liaising with external ICT support as needed)
  • Provide information and support for key events throughout the year
  • Be the key liaison to the Consumer Advisory Panel (a group of patients and carers, who advise on research from a consumer’s perspective) – assist in organising monthly meetings and events and speakers for the meetings
  • Support the fundraising team with events, communications, and other assistance as required
  • Frontline role communicating with stakeholders such as clinicians, donors and others

Key requirements:

You will have a passion for meaningful work and the inspiring work this organisation supports, as well as being highly collaborative, communicative, and comfortable working in a small team environment.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent time management/coordination – be able to balance and prioritise competing projects and deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service focus in all communications with key stakeholders to support the presentation of AGITG as professional and responsive.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship management skills
